SCRAPPY TOWNE DESIGNS
Name: Michelle Towne
I was introduced to paper
scrapping, by a friend, when I moved to the USA in
2002. At the end of 2006 I was searching online for
supplies and came across this thing call “digital”
scrapping and was immediately drawn to it. Within six
months I was designing very simple things like papers
and tags. Once I’d caught the bug there was no
stopping me…I started working through tutorials and
was amazed every time I was able to create
something! I love the fact that even thought I’m back
in Scotland now I can still be part of the digi scrapping
community through my laptop!
I have been a paper scrapper for over 10 years and I always loved the way designers were able to come up with different unique papers and textures. When I found out about digital scrapping and the ease of it I. FELL. IN. LOVE- shhh don’t tell my husband. I had to do it. I started designing with templates and slowly moved to kits. What started me on kits was simply the fact that I had a specific thing in mind that I wanted to scrap and I was having trouble finding even one kit that would work for me. I have been designing kits for almost a year.
My boys, family and friends are what inspire me. Since I don’t have girls I do try to do more gender neutral kits that can be used for anyone and everyone. Of course I do do those kits that I am looking for. If I have pictures to scrap of the boys swimming in the pool- I want to make a kit that has enough things in there that I am able to scrap those pictures.
I have a very eclectic style of scrapping. I try all sorts of designers myself and scrap everything.
All of the kits I have made are of course my favorite. However there are two kits that are really special to me (again going along with the “I was looking for something specific”
The first one is “For My Nephew”
This is exactly what its purpose is, for my nephew. He JUST arrived back home from serving his first tour of duty in Iraq and I wanted to go through and scrap all the pictures that he had been posting on Facebook page.
The second is “All About Granny”
This too is something very special to me. Most of the elements that are in this kit have been photographed by me and were all of my grandmothers things. My grandpas wallet is in here and his pocket watch, the roses where my Valentines flowers from my boys, the doilies are my MIL’s so yes this kit is very special to me.
